Outreach within the community

  • Connect with local community centers to see how SGA and A&T student body can assist them
    • Beloved community center, Ray Warren homes
    • It is very important for us to be heavily connected with our surrounding community, without them we wouldn't be here!
  • SGA tour at local middle and high schools
    • Involvement within Guilford County Schools is essential to the growth of our next generation
    • Different representatives from SGA along with other student orgs go to different campuses and teach them the importance of HBCUs and advocacy within their communities.

Advocacy-based work

  • Striving towards a better relationship with OLCE to get the student body prepared for the local/2024 election
    • Inquire about an early polling site
    • Collaborate on educational tools for students concerning local, state, and federal politics
  • Advocating for students' wants and needs including shuttles on the weekend, recycling on campus
    • This also includes pushing for admin to be more visible on campus
  • Advocacy also includes APPROACHABILITY
    • I would love to host "Come Eat With Me" Office Hours
      • these will be hosted in either the Mini Caf or Williams and will consist of the E-Board chatting with the student body and engage
    • More Tabling and Talking
      • SGA Administration should be willing to talk with the people and not strictly rely on surveys

WANNA HEAR ABOUT MY PLATFORM?

Accountability for the SGA Administration

  • Holding the SGA administration accountable by requiring monthly/bi-weekly reports along with Board Of Trustee Meeting recaps as well
    • We have to educate the students about what's going on within SGA and how it impacts them
  • Requiring strong interaction with the student body directly from the SGA E-Board (less surveying, more talking and tabling)

Magnify the culture

  • Working with other student organizations to promote A&T’s rich culture
    • Continuing the multicultural gala with African Aggies Coalition, Caribbean Students Association, the Office of Intercultural Engagement
  • Promoting the use of the Aggie Archives to not only preserve A&T’s history but also learn more about it
    • Looking back at Aggie Archives to see what past administrations have done
    • Submitting the SGA administration's work into the archives as well

Building bridges between NCAT administration and students

  • Requesting for administration to be involved in student activities/at events
    • During meetings, I will be advocating for higher visibility so students are familiar with the people making decisions on our campus
  • Working towards higher frequency and better advertisement for blue and gold table talk
    • Advocating for the Blue and Gold Table talk to happen twice during an administration

Bubble Speech Illustration

I chose Obama as my theme for my campaign because of how influential he was to the black community and his impact on our culture. From the T-Shirts to the posters, his merchandise was INSANE --I hope my campaign excites everyone while also reminding everyone of the approachability and personal aspect I hope to bring to this campus through Student Government Association.

What I've done in the past

During my matriculation at my illustrious North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, I've been involved in many entities of this campus and I'd love to share with you!

Sophomore Class President

Co-Lead and Civic Fellow

Currently, I serve as a Co-Lead and Civic Fellow for the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement--I joined my Sophomore year! Through these roles, I've had the opportunity to get politically and civically involved in the Greeensboro community. Here are some events I assisted in and/or hosted:

  • Cross the Street
  • Open Mic Tuesday
  • Voter Education Fair
  • NVRD Block Party

During my time as Sophomore Class President, I focused on unifying my classmates with each other and the Greensboro community! My most memorable and impactful moments were:

  • Spooky Sophomore Social
  • The Black Door Project & Black Reads Project
